Project Case Study
SXSW Building Wrap
at Brazos Hall
A temporary exterior vinyl building wrap installed across Brazos Hall in downtown Austin for a South by Southwest Tech Week activation for IBM.
Overview
For South by Southwest in Austin, a temporary exterior building wrap was needed to transform Brazos Hall into a high-visibility branded environment for IBM during Tech Week.
The project covered the exterior of the downtown venue with a bold black-and-white vinyl treatment designed to stand out during one of Austin’s busiest event windows.
The Ask
The installation needed to be completed within a three-day window, with the full exterior treatment applied before the event and removed one week later.
Because the project took place in an active downtown location, the work required careful coordination, efficient staging, and an experienced installation crew.
The Solution
A crew of eight installers worked 12-hour days over the three-day installation window. The wrap was built in layers, beginning with multiple rolls of flat black adhesive vinyl applied across the building exterior.
Contour-cut flat white vinyl was then installed over the black base to create the messaging, branding, and graphic pattern across the surface.
The Result
The completed wrap gave Brazos Hall a bold street-level presence during SXSW, turning the building into a temporary branded landmark in downtown Austin.
After the event, the team returned to remove the graphics as requested, completing the project from installation through takedown.
